Curriculum and Instruction
The Curriculum and Instruction Department supports our schools, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn to their full potential. The department is responsible for assisting teachers with instructional strategies, understanding the instructional standards they teach, and assessment programs that help identify our successes and academic challenges. Additionally, this department supports the classroom with instructional materials, technology, student services, and exceptional student education support.
Sumter County Schools receives a variety of federal grants designed to support student achievement, teacher development, and educational equity. These programs include Title I (supporting students in high-poverty schools), Title II (professional development for educators), Title III (services for English Learners), Title IV (academic enrichment and student support), and Title IX (educational access for homeless children and youth). Each grant plays a vital role in helping us meet the diverse needs of our students and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
