Student Services
At Sumter County Schools, Student Services is committed to fostering success and building resiliency in every student. Through school counseling, scholarship opportunities, health services, attendance support, and programs like Families in Transition, we help students overcome challenges and stay on the path to academic and personal growth. In partnership with the Sumter Schools Enhancement Foundation and community organizations, we provide resources that nurture both achievement and resilience. Together, we empower students to thrive—no matter what obstacles they face.
We are committed to fostering resilience in students through a comprehensive Resiliency Education program aligned with Florida Department of Education standards. Using the Navigate360 Compass Curriculum, the district offers over 100 age-appropriate lessons on topics such as conflict resolution, personal responsibility, critical thinking, and community involvement. These lessons empower students from kindergarten through 12th grade with the skills they need to navigate challenges and achieve success both academically and personally.
To further support this initiative, Sumter County Schools encourages community involvement through the Resiliency Coach program, where trained volunteers mentor students and reinforce key principles of resilience and adaptability. Families and community members are also encouraged to explore Resiliency Florida to learn more about the importance of resiliency and access additional resources to help support students’ growth. Through these collective efforts, Sumter County Schools is dedicated to preparing students for a strong, confident future.
