It is time to prepare for the 2026-2027 Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) school year. If your child will be four years old on or before September 1, 2026, they are eligible for this program regardless of family income.
VPK follows the regular school calendar, Monday through Friday, and attendance is mandatory once your student is enrolled. Please note that space is limited and registration does not guarantee placement, so we encourage you to act quickly!
🗓️ Important Dates & How to Register
Get Your Certificate of Eligibility (COE):
Complete Online Enrollment: Starting
March 4, 2026 (after 9:00 a.m.), go to the "Parents" tab at
www.sumter.k12.fl.us and select "Enrollment & Registration" to complete the 26-27 New Student Enrollment.
Attend Your School's Registration Event: These events run from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM:
- Lake Panasoffkee Elementary: April 7, 2026
- Bushnell Elementary: April 9, 2026
- Webster Elementary: April 14, 2026
- Wildwood Elementary: April 16, 2026
Note: General enrollment by appointment begins the day after each school's event (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM).
📋 Required Documentation
Please gather the following to complete your registration:
- Parent/Guardian Driver’s License
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Current Immunization/Shot Record
- Current School Physical (dated after August 11, 2025)
- Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
- Proof of Address
