It’s time to start a brand-new adventure! Sumter County School Board is excited to announce that Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is officially opening soon. If your child will be five years old on or before September 1, 2026, they are ready to join our school family.
🗓️ Important Dates to Remember
The process begins online and moves to in-person events at our elementary schools:

March 4, 2026 (Beginning at 9:00 a.m.): Online registration opens.
- Visit www.sumter.k12.fl.us, click the Parents tab, and select New Student Enrollment to get started.
- Registration Events (3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.):

Next Step: After completing the online portion, please call your child’s school to schedule an appointment for their specific registration event.

To ensure a smooth registration, please have the following documents ready for your appointment:
- Parent/Guardian Driver’s License

Certified Birth Certificate (We will review it, but please keep the original!)
- Current Immunization/Shot Record

Current School Physical (Must be dated after August 11, 2025)
- Proof of Residency
