AVID Online Application
You are invited to apply to be a part of our AVID Program! Do you want to go to college, but you aren’t sure how? AVID is here to help! AVID is an elective class designed to prepare students in the academic middle for admission to a four-year college or university. For more than 30 years AVID has been instrumental in preparing students for success in higher education. In the 2020-2021 school year, Sumter County Schools will be offering this program to select 6th – 12th grade students.
In AVID, students are taught study skills, note taking, time management, research skills and the power of Public Speaking, while being immersed in a college-going culture. The class also includes tutoring sessions that are led by college students and provides support for success. Additionally, the AVID class provides access to information about colleges and universities through fieldtrips, guest speakers, college tutors, scholarship opportunities and college admission requirement information.
Are you motivated to do well? Are you serious about your academic future? Then, AVID is for YOU!
