I grew up in Inverness, Florida and attended Citrus County Schools.  I am a graduate of Citrus High School (Go Hurricanes!), Central Florida Community College in Ocala, Florida and Graduated Saint Leo University with a degree in Elementary Education. For the first 11 years of my teaching career I was a third grade teacher in Sumter County Schools.  Fresh out of college, I taught my first year at Bushnell Elementary School. My second year I moved over to North Sumter Primary School in Wildwood and didn't look back.  When the Primary school and Intermediate school merged to form Wildwood Elementary School, I  was right there with them, excited to teach in a big new classroom (no more portables for me)! In the summer of 2013, I was given an opportunity to move to the Music Room.  I received my certification and started teaching music which I absolutely LOVE doing! 

My musical background includes singing with my sister in church and choir since I was a child, and I was able to travel and perform with my church youth choir. I began playing the recorder in third grade, clarinet and oboe in fourth grade and continued through middle and high school.  My junior year, I became Drum Major of my high school marching band, playing with the percussion section. I was in our performance rock band, BREEZ, and played the keyboard.  I started taking piano lessons when I was 7 years old and played as my talent in the Miss Teen Citrus County pageant 2 years in a row.
