I teach English 4: Florida College Prep, a course that prepares seniors for college and career. Much of the work we will do in class will assist you for the state's ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 college courses, but English 4 also prepares you for the reading and writing tasks found in a vocational program or on a job. I hope that you will also take away a love for literature and for writing.
I also teach the dual enrollment courses of ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. Students who successfully complete these courses will receive three college credits for each course.
I've been teaching at South Sumer High School for 30 years. I grew up in different neighborhoods in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later lived in Wilmington, Delaware. I moved to Florida with my family following my junior year of high school. After graduation, I remained in Florida and eventually pursued my college education.
I moved to Sumter County as a single-parent and educated my daughter through the Sumter County school system. Today, she is a graphic and web designer in Pensacola, Florida, where she lives with her husband and my beautiful granddaughter Julie and grandson Matthew. All the cliches about grandmas and grandbabies ring true for me. My favorite thing is spending time with Julie and Matthew.
If you or your parents need to contact me about questions or concerns, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Another way to contact me is by calling the school at 352-793-3131, Ext. 82363 and leaving a voice message. I will respond to you within 24 hours.
