    Kelly Goodwin- Principal

I grew up in Sumter County and I am proud to say that I am a product of Bushnell Elementary.  I graduated from St. Leo College with a BA in Elementary Education and earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. I began my career 20 years ago as a teacher right here at BES.

I have taught second through fifth grades in my teaching career. I have also served as a Reading Coach/MTSS Facilitator, spent three years as the Assistant Principal of Lake Panasoffkee Elementary,  and half a year as the AP at South Sumter Middle School before being hired as the Principal here at BES.

I have loved every stage of my career, and I am excited for the future.  I will always put the needs of the children above all else, and will work tirelessly to continue the tradition of excellence at Bushnell Elementary, A Great Place to Grow.

I am a Bushnell Elementary School teacher turned assistant principal, and excited to be spending the 2019-2020 school year serving the students, parents, and staff here at BES.  I am originally from Key Largo, Florida, but have been living here in the beautiful Sumter County for the last fourteen years.

I graduated from Barry University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education followed by the University of West Florida with my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  Over the last sixteen years, I have had the opportunity to teach in a few Florida school districts beginning in Miami-Dade, then Hernando, and finally here in Sumter.  While working here in Sumter, I taught third through fifth grades here at Bushnell Elementary from 2007 to 2014.  For the last five years, I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve as MTSS Case Facilitator, Reading Coach, and Assistant Principal Intern at Wildwood Elementary.  To say that I’m excited about the ADVENTURE that AWAITS here at BES, is an understatement.
