Mr. D'Haiti

Greetings everyone, my name is Vigil D’Haiti, and I will be teaching the Social Science classes here at S.P.A. this year for middle and high school. I am a Florida native who has traveled throughout the United States and abroad, and plans on sharing some of those cultural differences that I have experienced throughout the year.

I am a first-year teacher; although I am new to the public school system, I am not new to teaching youths and fostering the maturation of those around me.  For as long as I can remember, I have been a teacher in some form or another, whether it is teaching family members how to read, write, speak English, as well as coaching multiple sports for all age groups.  My infinity for sports is what led me to the field of teaching.  I found myself mentoring and filling in academic gaps that my athletes’ needed to be successful student-athletes.  I have coached sports in Lake County for 15 plus years and recently coached at football at Wildwood Middle High school. I am a father of four, and my life revolves around my children and my extended family (my students).

This year will be the year” We move the Academic Needle,” as our beloved Principal Presley has stated. I want to leave you with this quote, “Access Without Support Is Not Opportunity.”  - Dr. Vincent Tinto.  We will be the support to better give your students an opportunity.
