    About Your Principal:

I am Nicole Wade, a Sumter County native and former LPES student. I feel blessed to serve as your principal here at Lake Panasoffkee Elementary. After graduating from South Sumter High School in 1999, I attended Lake Sumter State College and Saint Leo University to receive a degree in Elementary Education. It was during this time that I began teaching Sunday School at my church and realized that I wanted to serve my community, making a difference in the lives of children and their families. Since becoming an educator, I have taught grades Kindergarten through 5th grade at Bushnell Elementary and also worked in the curriculum department at the district office.  I decided to return to Saint Leo University and earn my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2012, so that I could continue my mission of serving Sumter County Schools. In 2015, I had the privilege of coming to LPES to serve as the assistant principal. I look forward to getting to know many of our families and community members, as we work together to continue to make Lake Panasoffkee Elementary a high performing learning environment!

    About Your Assistant Principal:

My name is Grace “Sissy” Ashley, and I have been in Sumter County since 1994.  After graduating Gulf High School and Pasco-Hernando Community College, I transferred to the University of South Florida to become a marine biologist.  However, my heart was always in education and helping others, so after a semester I changed my major to Special Education.  While at USF, I met my husband, the wonderful fifth grade teacher here at Lake Panasoffkee, Mr. Ashley.  I started my career in education as a special education teacher at Wildwood Middle School.  I was also involved outside of the classroom as the flag corps sponsor, softball coach and the Special Olympics coach.  We loved Sumter County so much that we grew roots and started a family!
In 1998, the first of our three WONDERFUL children was born.  I decided to take time off from teaching to stay home.  During the eight years away from the classroom, I was a part-time supported living coach for the Key Training Center.  I was also able to stay involved with the youth in Citrus and Sumter County as a soccer, baseball and swimming coach.  When my youngest entered school in 2006, I returned to the classroom…here at Lake Panasoffkee!  I have been at Lake Pan for ten years, and I have taught all grades except second.  My oldest son just graduated from SSHS and will be attending UF in the fall, and my other two children are still at SSHS.  Anticipating my empty nest, two years ago I decided to become a student once again and earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida.   I am excited to begin my career in administration as your assistant principal!  I absolutely LOVE Lake Panasoffkee and consider the faculty, staff and students my family.  It is inspirational to see the way we work together to make this the most amazing school around!  We have an awesome family here, and I am so proud to be a part of it!  J
