Sally Moss was first appointed by Governor Scott to the Sumter county School Board to fill the seat vacated by the late Haydn Evans in April of 2018. She was elected to the position in November of 2018.
Mrs. Moss & her husband moved to San Diego, California in 1982, from the Miami area. In California, she was a Realtor with Prudential California Realty and also assisted her husband with his financial planning practice.
They moved to The Villages in 2004 and she began volunteering with the Villages Homeowners Advocate Association and was instrumental in expanding the VHA south of CR466. In 2006, she was elected to The Villages Community Development District #6 Board of Supervisors for a four year term. Mrs. Moss is currently completing her 12th year as an elected Supervisor and has been the Board Chairperson for 11 of those years. Her current term for the District Board ends this November. Some of the responsibilities of a Residential CDD Board include, setting policy and procedures, approving and adopting the annual budget, defining rules for external deed restrictions and maintaining the common area of the District. The Board assures the perpetuity of the District by managing and financing infrastructure required to support development of the community.
Since 2009, Mrs. Moss has also served as the CDD#6 Representative to the Investment Advisory Committee for the Districts in The Villages. The Committees' Representatives are responsible to their respective Districts for the recommendations of investible funds for the 12 Residential Districts and 3 Commercial Districts.
