  • Parents,

On Monday, April 8th, the state of Florida will be undergoing a partial solar eclipse starting around 12:15 pm and running through the end of the school day.  We do not anticipate any disruption of school function during this timeframe.  Some science classes will be using this event as a learning opportunity, keeping student safety at the forefront of the experience.  All students will be advised of the required safety measures for viewing a solar eclipse.  If you have concerns, and would prefer that your child NOT participate in any planned activities, please call Principal Allen Shirley at 352-793-3131, and he will ensure that your child’s teachers are notified.  If he does not answer, please leave him a voicemail with a call back number, and he will confirm receipt of the call.  Thank you and have a great weekend.

  • We are proud to have earned a place on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll for the 2022-2023 school year!

"On behalf of everyone in the AP community, congratulations to you and your colleagues. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success. Your school is being further recognized with the AP Access Award, which honors schools that encourage more low-income and underrepresented minority students to take AP courses. The percentage of students in at least one of these categories who took at least one AP Exam before graduation is proportional to or above your school's student population, demonstrating a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework. Research shows students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. And even for those who don't earn college credit, advanced coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture."
