    We are pleased to offer our students a wide range of curricular and extra curricular programs. We offer many Career & Technical Education classes and invite you to explore this area on our web site.


    We encourage and invite parents to stay involved in their child's education throughout the high school years. Our guidance counselors are very knowledgable and welcome the chance to sit down with you about your child's goals.

    1. Must have an unweighted, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or more
    2. Must pass 10th grade FSA/ELA test
    3. Must meet postsecondary readiness cut scores in Reading and one other section of one of these 3 tests:
      1. PERT – Reading= 106, Writing  = 103, Math = 114
      2. SAT  -   Reading 480 or sub-score of 24, Math = 480 or sub-score of 24
      3. ACT  –  Reading = 19, English = 17 , Math = 19

    FBLA 2017 State Leadership Conference

    The SSHS Future Business Leaders of America chapter has just returned from the State Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL. One portion of the conference was dedicated to viewing workshops and the students got to see a familiar face: Mr. Patrick Grady. SSHS had 18 students competing in all areas of business from performing a speech to taking a test. Congratulations to Alexandria Ford on placing 5th in FBLA Principles and Procedures! Our students never fail to make us proud and to inspire others to be their best!

    Regional Science Fair

    February 10th was a GREAT night for South Sumter Raiders!! We sent 8 projects to the regional fair and all 8 are 1ST PLACE WINNERS!!!. We are the only school to have accomplished this from all of Marion and Sumter.

    Six of these projects will head to compete at the state science fair in Lakeland.

    ON SEPTEMBER 9th, there was a program to honor our past, present & future students of the military. SSHS students and staff met in the gym for an honors program. THE PUBLIC was invited to join in honoring of our military of South Sumter. A flag was flown over the PENTAGON this past summer (JULY 4th) in their honor and was presented at the program.

     Raider Entrepreneur Dreams


    Congratulate the following winners of the Raider Entrepreneur Dreams (R.E.D.) competition. Thursday, April 28th the five finalist went into the “Shark Tank” live event and all did a great job at “pitching” their business idea. Although all were winners as the cash prizes ranged from $50 for 5th place to $1,000 for first.
