ACCELERATED READER

We Use Accelerated Reader (AR) at Lake Panasoffkee Elementary!

Accelerated Reader is a computerized literature based reading program.  Using the computer, reading comprehension is tested on books read from the classroom or Media Center.  Students earn points on each test passed.  The point value of a book is determined by the length and difficulty of the book.

School wide students are averaging 900 points a week.  That's great! Our school wide goal for the 2010-2011 school year is 60,000 points with an 85% or higher average.

Our students love reading and earning Accelerated Reader points because of their sense of accomplishment and because points earn prizes like these below.
