The goal of the Sumter Professional Center is to improve teacher quality and meet the requirement to have all core subject area teachers highly qualified; provide professional development that improves the knowledge of teachers, principals, administrators and staff; increase student achievement and eliminate the achievement gap; recruit and retain highly qualified teachers; provide induction and mentoring programs for new teachers; and facilitate a leadership development for administrators.
